Valencia´s goal in memory of late coach

Antonio Valencia has dedicated his goal
in Manchester United’s 2-0 win against
Blackburn to former coach Dragan
Miranovic.
Serbian Miranovic, who died two weeks
ago, coached mainly in Ecuador but also
worked at various clubs all over the
world.
Miranovic, who died of a heart attack,
gave Valencia his big break during the
winger’s time at Ecuadorian club El
Nacional at the start of his career.
Writing on his Twitter account, the 26-
year-old said: “Dragan, this goal is for
you, thanks for your advice and your
teaching.”
He added: “How sad to learn of the death of
Dragan, the distance you send my condolences
to his family and friends, sad day for football.
“Tonight is very sad for me by the death of
Dragan, the person who gave me continuity in
football and for his great advice.”
Valencia opened the scoring for United against
Blackburn with what could have been a cross or
a shot, and the Red Devil star was unsure
himself.
Valencia laughed to Sky Sports in regards to his
effort: “It was 50-50.”
