Neymar 100 goals

Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior popularly known as just Neymar was born 5 February 1992. He came into prominence at an early age at Santos, where he made his professional debut aged 17. He helped the club win two successive Campeonato Paulista championships, a Copa do Brasil, and the 2011 Copa Libertadores, Santos’ first continental title since 1963. Neymar was twice named the South American Footballer of the Year, in 2011 and 2012, before relocating to Europe to join Barcelona.

The breakdown of his 100 goals for Barcelona includes:

  • 64 in La Liga
  • 21 in the Champions League
  • 14 in the Copa del Rey
  • 1 in Spanish Supercopa.

Neymar fired home Barcelona’s fourth in their 4-1 win at Granada on Sunday 2nd of Apr 2017 and it earned him a personal milestone, becoming the third Brazilian to hit a century for the club.

Luis Enrique celebrated Neymar’s 100th goal for Barcelona by saying he hopes the Brazilian striker scores 900 more. “He has numbers [which show he is] a beast of a footballer. He’s one of the most unbalancing players in the world [for opposition defences] and his signing by this club was a great decision,” said Luis Enrique in his post game news conference.

Neymar told Barca TV, “I am happy to reach goal 100 and I dedicate it to my colleagues who always help me,”.
“I am happy with the victory that is the important thing. I stay with everyone because everyone has been important, but the best of all was the first in the Super Cup.”

His first goal for the club came against Atletico Madrid in the Supercopa in 2013.
He celebrated his 100th goal in typical fashion. Fingers pointed to the skies and surrounded by his team-mates.
